Saddle Making and Repairs
After repairing well over 100 saddles, I have seen that on a well made saddle the only thing that usually wears out is the fleece, stirrup leathers, saddle strings and occassionally, rigging leathers.
A well made saddle that has been well taken care of, cleaned and oiled on a regular basis will outlast the person that bought it.
Stay away from poducts that contain petroleum products. Use only natural oils or creams, like 100% Neetsfoot or Skidmore Cream.
